Lorraine Wixom

Instrument: Piano

Lorraine was five years old when her mother first taught her how to play the piano. Lorraine learned to sight read music and she put those skills to extensive use. She played piano and organ at church for many years.

Lorraine has been playing with the Hurricane Valley Symphony for six years. She has two family members who play with her in the symphony – Wil Wixom-Burdick (grandson) and Nataly Wixom-Burdick (granddaughter-in-law).

Lorraine was born in Salt Lake, attended South High, and graduated with a pharmacy degree from the University of Utah. She worked as a pharmacist for most of her life. Aside from music, her hobbies include puzzles, books, and Broadway musicals. Lorraine has four children, eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Her dog TJ is “the most spoiled dog.”
